The African Canadian Heritage Association (ACHA) has been providing African Caribbean heritage programming since 1969. The program features African history lessons, arts and crafts, and special events for students who range in age from 5-18 years of age. 


Dr. Maulana Karenga, emphasized the importance of Umoja, stating:

“Unity is the foundation for all our efforts. Without it, progress is difficult, if not impossible.”


ACHA is excited to announce our collaboration with Woodgreen Community Services. “UMOJA” will be the inspiring theme of our 2025-26 programming, kicking off with a vibrant community gathering called “UMOJA IN THE PARK.” This event is designed to be an intergenerational, family-friendly celebration that marks an important step in our ongoing journey towards building a shared vision for the future.
