Make it stand out

Be Black, buy Black, think Black, and all else will take care of itself.”

“What you do today that is worthwhile, inspires others to act at some future time.”

The Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey

Marcus Garvey believed that economic independence and self-reliance were fundamental to the empowerment of the Black community. He advocated for Black entrepreneurship as a means to combat systemic racism and foster economic growth within the community. Garvey emphasized the importance of supporting African American businesses and developing a robust economic infrastructure that prioritized the needs and aspirations of Black individuals. He envisioned a cooperative economy where Black people would own and operate businesses, creating jobs and wealth for themselves. Through his work with the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), Garvey inspired many to embrace entrepreneurship as a path to liberation, stressing that financial self-sufficiency was crucial for achieving social and political freedom. His legacy continues to influence contemporary discussions on Black entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
