AFRICA CANADIAN HISTORY CHALLENGE

Those who have no record of what their forebears have accomplished lose the inspiration which comes from the teaching of biography and history. - Carter G. Woodson

"History is not the past. It is the present. We carry our history with us. We are our history."Esi Edugyan

Esi Edugyan, novelist (born 1978 in Calgary, AB). Esi Edugyan is a Ghanaian Canadian novelist whose work has become an influential part of the Canadian literary canon.

The Black History Challenge is a fun, family-oriented activity where participants work in groups to test and expand what they know about their African-Canadian history. It’s an excellent opportunity to share intergenerational knowledge about our past achievements, to celebrate resilience and creativity, and to instill a lasting sense of pride and confidence in our youth and children — inspiring them to learn more and carry our stories forward.
