Lets Talk Science

Visions of Science short story contest Congratulations to Jelani Grant, a current ACHA student, who entered a short story into a Science Fiction, story writing contest. The contest was sponsored by Visions of Science and Jelani won 1st prize in the children's division.

Jelani is a grade 8 student of the Dr Robert Thornton Public School with an active imagination. His story Imagine is a time travel story that takes us to important moments in black history. Vivid, exciting and humourous, Imagine was a favorite right away with the judges. Way to go Jelani. Keep up the fantastic work.

Lets Talk Science, a national organization that is striving to improve science education by engaging youth in science experiments, visited the ACHA program on February 4th. Visions of Science Club supervisors helped to lead the ACHA students in a variety of hands-on science activities that featured rocket experiments and sticky glue creations. As you can see....the students had a blast and the teachers ended up with a major clean-up job.
